INDIA ON A POSITIVE START IN ASIAN ATHELETICS CHAMPIONSHIP

India has started with a positive note on the first day of the 22nd Asian Atheletics Championships. It has started with men’s 1500 meters, India’s Ajay Kumar Saroj set the phase in heat 1 and Siddharth Ahikary in heat 2 with a second place. In women’s 1500 meters , Chitra PU qualified for the semi-finals from heat 2, wheras Monka Chaudhary crashed out in heat1 itself. In the men’s decathlon, Japan’s Kazuya Kaqasaki took the early lead who is a 100 meter sprint leg of the event. The trio Muhammed Anas, Rajiv Arokia and Amoj Jacob entered into the semi-finals in the men’s 400 meters event. The men’s high jump also got underway with China’s Asian Games silver medallist Zhang Guowei. Thus the upcoming events are more anticipated with who will enter into the next levels of competions.
